My Summer Holiday

What do you write in a blog after the summer holiday? The brain is still on holiday mode, somewhere in Florida. Today I decided after the huge amount of chocolate consumed last night it was time to hit the local gym. I got up at 6.00 and successfully completed an hours training, before the school run and work… So proud! Now I just need to keep it up!

After an extremely busy summer, I believe we now have around 1000 people on our books. We’ve been very busy meeting a lot of new faces as well as the regular clients, and we’ve worked ourselves to the limit. It’s been very satisfying and I am feeling so grateful that people trust us and want to come back to the clinic.

A late holiday was on the cards, after such a hectic but rewarding summer season. On the bank holiday we flew out to Tampa in Florida – I couldn’t sleep from excitement! It was our first holiday in a long time, and I was very much in need of sun, having spent much of the year inside (I am a big believer in protecting skin from the sun, but we also need our Vitamin D – it’s all about balance!).

On the first day I realised that my trusted sun protection 50 from Heliocare was not in my suitcase so off we went to Walgreens to buy a replacement. Of course, I won’t mention any names, but after a few hours in the pool I felt and looked like a lobster! Burnt on the first day with two weeks to go, not a brilliant start…. Thankfully I had packed my Environ A, E & C Enhanced Oil and royally applied it on the face and the body, to wake up the next day feeling and looking less like a tourist. Three days later and smothered in a new, more effective sun protection product, I was able to venture into the pool again and enjoy the time with my kids without further issues.

What I did notice was the skin condition of some of the Floridians. Wonderful hot weather comes at a price when we are not reversing the damage process caused by the exposure of the sun. Dry, yellow and sagging skin seems to be the result, which to my mind is a great shame, as there are ways to prevent and treat sun damage. Environ’s Enhanced Oil is the most fantastic product for soothing and restoring sun damaged skin (as I found out, after my sunburn disaster!). It penetrates the skin to repair damage caused, and feels cooling and smooth.

Of course, skin damage can occur in our cooler climes too, and we see clients who have spent too long in the sun and are unhappy with the condition of their skin. While we always promote sensible sun care advice (wear a hat, stay in the shade, keep hydrated and ALWAYS apply lotion), there are steps that can be taken to reverse the damage – a combination of treatments, the right products and supplements can work wonders.

With that in mind, I will be liberally applying Environ Enhanced Oil, enjoying regular facials and ensuring I get all my vitamins – and the new gym bunny body will be an added bonus!

Opening the Seaview Beauty Clinic has been a dream come true for me. As a child growing up in Russia I dreamt of becoming a doctor but my life was turned upside down when my family and I were forced to leave and become refugees in Holland. This was a difficult time particularly as a teenager with little money and bad skin but I have always had a hunger for knowledge so my interests soon turned to reading and researching everything about skincare. This newly found passion paid off when several years later after lots of hard work I was presented with a degree in beauty and holistic therapies. But my journey was only just beginning and my quest to help others become healthier, happier and enhance their natural beauty got stronger. Encouraged by mother and grandma who said I had magical hands.
